The U.S. Marine Corps has confirmed the identities of five Marines who tragically lost their lives following the crash of a military helicopter in the mountains near San Diego. The accident involved service members all in their twenties, who were part of a routine flight training mission. The deceased Marines were identified as Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis, Sgt. Alec Langen, Capt. Benjamin Moulton, Capt. Jack Casey, and Capt. Miguel Nava, with each having served with distinction and earned various service medals, including the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

The incident has prompted an outpouring of grief and support for the families of the fallen Marines. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with recovery efforts complicated by harsh weather conditions and challenging terrain in the area where the CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter went down.
