In an operation in eastern Syria, US forces detained three ISIS members, undermining the organization’s ability to organize and carry out activities.Â
The US military captured an ISIS operative, Hudayfah al Yemeni, and two associates in a raid in eastern Syria on April 8. The seizure of the attack facilitator will disrupt ISIS’s ability to plan and execute operations, according to US Central Command. No civilian casualties were reported during the operation. The US military is present in Syria to support and train the Syrian Democratic Forces while conducting counterterrorism operations against ISIS and its affiliates. Although ISIS has lost a significant amount of territory, it remains a threat in Iraq and Syria and continues to work with affiliated groups globally.Â
