On April 14, coinciding with Russian Air Defense Forces Day, Ukrainian Special Forces conducted a targeted strike on a Russian 9K35 Strela-10 (NATO: SA-13 Gopher) air defense system. The operation was carried out by the Main Intelligence Directorate’s special operations unit, known as HUR.
The Strela-10, a highly mobile, short-range surface-to-air missile system designed to protect against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles, was located at the front lines. HUR operatives utilized an FPV (First Person View) attack drone to carry out the strike. According to HUR’s press service, the attack resulted in the air defense system being effectively neutralized, ceasing its operation.
