In eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian forces successfully halted Russian armored vehicles advancing toward Kurakhove with a coordinated tank and artillery assault.
The operation was carried out by the 33rd Mechanized Brigade of Ukraine, equipped with German-made Leopard 2A4 tanks.
Drone footage released by the brigade shows Ukrainian tanks and artillery striking Russian tanks, an armored personnel carrier, and several combat vehicles in a precise operation, resulting in significant Russian losses.

The Leopard 2A4 tank, operated by a four-person crew, used its high-power armor-piercing rounds to neutralize key targets, disrupting the Russian advance. Ukrainian drones further pursued Russian infantry who retreated into nearby wooded areas, reportedly deploying shells to prevent regrouping.
The brigade reported that they eliminated 47 soldiers, two tanks, an armored personnel carrier, three combat vehicles, and a motorcycle.
Russia has experienced significant vehicle losses in Ukraine. In October alone, it lost 695 pieces of equipment, including 103 tanks that were destroyed, damaged, abandoned, or captured, according to the open-source research project Oryx.
