KNDS France Robotics, a subsidiary of German-French defense joint venture KNDS, recently announced that it has secured a contract to supply ten NERVA-LG robotic systems to the U.S. Special Forces.
The NERVA-LG is a lightweight, durable, and versatile unmanned ground vehicle designed for a range of military operations, including reconnaissance, surveillance, and explosive ordnance disposal.

Weighing just 5 kilograms, the robot is compact and highly mobile, capable of navigating complex terrains such as stairs and rubble. Its advanced sensor suite includes four cameras and a microphone, enabling intelligence gathering over distances of up to 1,000 meters in open areas and 300 meters in urban environments.
The platform’s modular design allows it to be equipped with over 20 specialized “mission kits” for tasks such as chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear detection, improvised explosive device control, victim assistance, and close combat support. Semi-autonomous features reduce the need for constant operator control, freeing personnel to focus on critical mission objectives.
The contract underscores KNDS France Robotics’ growing reputation in the defense industry as a provider of reliable and innovative solutions tailored to modern warfare. NERVA-LG has been deployed by elite forces such as France’s GIGN, the Canadian Armed Forces, and the U.S. Navy SEALs.
