The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently presented to the media the remnants of an Iranian ballistic missile intercepted by Israel’s Arrow air defense system. The missile, part of a larger assault involving over 100 missiles, was found in the Dead Sea. Identified as an Emad missile, it originally carried a 500-kilogram warhead, though only the fuel tank was recovered post-interception.
The missile debris, measuring 11 meters in length, represents approximately 70 percent of the missile’s total structure. The display took place amidst escalating tensions following Iran’s large-scale attack on Israel, which was described by IDF officials as a dangerous escalation in the region. This event marked a significant increase in hostilities, with Iran launching a reported total of 500 various projectiles, including ballistic and cruise missiles along with drones, in a single barrage.

Defense responses by Israel during the attack were highlighted as effective, with the majority of the projectiles being intercepted and neutralized. The Israeli response involved cooperation with the United States and Jordan, among other allies, to manage the threat. Despite the broad scale of the attack, the damage within Israel was limited, with minor infrastructure damage reported and a single civilian casualty due to shrapnel.
