On Thursday, Hezbollah launched a series of rocket and explosive drone attacks into northern Israel, triggering continuous alerts on Israeli warning systems. This escalation follows Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon and has intensified fears of a potential full-scale war between the two sides.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that an Israeli strike killed a woman in a home outside Tyre, southern Lebanon. Earlier reports indicated that a separate attack near the village of Janata injured at least seven people. The recent surge in hostilities has brought the situation to a critical point, with both sides exchanging heavy fire.

Hezbollah’s aggression increased notably after Israeli forces killed Sami Taleb Abdullah, a senior Hezbollah commander, during an airstrike over the weekend. Abdullah, an important figure in Hezbollah’s southern Lebanon operations, was targeted in a strike on a command center in Jouaiyya. The attack also resulted in the deaths of three other Hezbollah operatives.
Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV reported that more than 100 rockets and drones were launched in a coordinated assault targeting several Israeli military installations, including the northern military headquarters. The exact number of weapons fired remains undetermined.
As a result of these ongoing attacks, approximately 100,000 Israelis have evacuated their homes in the northern regions. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that if Hezbollah’s attacks continue to escalate, it could lead to a full-scale war.
In response to the violence, Israel’s finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, announced the reallocation of $35 million in tax revenue, originally collected for the Palestinian Authority, to families of Israeli victims of terrorism. Smotrich justified this move as “justice,” accusing the Palestinian Authority of supporting terrorism financially.
