Army Green Beret Anthony Luciano shows remarkable resilience and determination, defying a grim medical prognosis by taking steps towards recovery after being paralyzed from the neck down in a tragic accident.Â
Anthony Luciano, an Army Green Beret at Eglin Air Force Base, suffered paralyzing injuries while helping clear trees off a buddy’s property. He suffered two brain contusions, a cervical impingement, is paralyzed from the neck down, a burst fracture at T9, a collapsed lung, a hole in his diaphragm, and a femoral head fracture. Despite a grim diagnosis, he has proven doctors wrong with the help of multiple surgeries and treatments, including seven months at Shepherd’s Spinal Center in Atlanta. He was able to start taking steps with the help of a therapist and has made huge strides. His sister started a Gofundme to help pay for his treatments, and they hope to share his story to inspire others.Â
