Footage recently released online reveals the use of a turbojet-powered kamikaze drone by the Al-Shaheen Brigades, a drone unit of the Syrian opposition, targeting forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad.

Unlike propeller-driven models, these drones offer superior speed and payload capacity, making them more challenging for conventional air defense systems to detect and intercept. Their ability to perform high-speed, precision strikes on fortified targets adds a new dimension to the Syrian opposition’s capabilities.

The deployment of these advanced drones coincides with renewed clashes in the Aleppo and Idlib regions. Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and allied opposition groups have launched coordinated attacks, seizing Aleppo city.
The Syrian army, supported by Russian airstrikes, has responded with artillery and missile strikes, further intensifying the conflict.
