In anticipation of Kremlin clearance, Ramzan Kadyrov’s Chechen special forces are prepared to engage Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut city after the Russian Wagner Group announced their departure owing to ammo shortages.Â
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced that the Akhmat Special Forces are ready to fight Ukrainian forces in Bakhmut city. He is waiting for the Kremlin’s permission to do so. Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of the Russian Wagner Group mercenaries, had previously announced that they would leave Bakhmut on May 10 due to a shortage of ammunition. Kadyrov has called on Wagner soldiers to join the Chechen special forces and replace them in Bakhmut. The Russian Defense Ministry has instructed to keep under special control the supply of troops to the special military operations area with all the necessary weapons and equipment. It remains unclear whether the Kremlin will grant permission for the Akhmat Special Forces to enter Bakhmut.Â
