A $71.6 million contract to supply apparel to the US Marine Corps has been awarded to American Apparel Inc.
American Apparel Inc. based in Selma, Alabama, has won a contract worth up to $71,595,965 to provide blouses, trousers, maternity blouses, and slacks to the US Marine Corps. The contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process and eight bids were received. It is a one-year contract with the option for four additional one-year periods, and the ordering period will end on April 24, 2024. The funding for the contract comes from the fiscal year 2023 to 2024 defense working capital funds. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the contracting activity responsible for overseeing the contract.Â
