On Monday, Hezbollah, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, announced a series of military operations targeting Israeli soldiers and sites along the Israel-Lebanon border. The militant group stated that the attacks were carried out in support of Palestinians in Gaza and in retaliation for Israeli strikes on southern Lebanese villages.
Hezbollah fighters launched several attacks throughout Monday, primarily focusing on Israeli military positions near the town of Metulla. The group alleged that its forces bombed Israeli soldiers stationed in the area with rocket artillery, followed by a drone strike on a gathering of Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah claimed that both attacks resulted in direct hits on their targets.

Later in the day, the group continued to shell Israeli artillery positions in Metulla, Zaoura, and the occupied Kfar Chouba Hills. In a separate operation, Hezbollah fired Katyusha rockets at the Ramim and Ramot Naftali barracks in response to Israeli strikes on Lebanese villages, including Blida and Kfar Chouba. Hezbollah also targeted Israeli forces at the Bayad Blida site with artillery shells.

Additionally, the group launched a guided missile strike on Israeli vehicles at the Ramya site, reportedly destroying the vehicles and causing a fire. When Israeli support units arrived, Hezbollah fighters allegedly attacked them with artillery, claiming to inflict casualties.
In retaliation, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on Hezbollah positions across southern Lebanon. The IDF confirmed targeting Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and military infrastructure in several areas, including Marj al-Zehar, Houla, Maroun al-Ras, and Blida.
Israeli strikes extended to the Beqaa and Baalbek areas in eastern Lebanon, where they hit weapons warehouses and military posts linked to Hezbollah. One strike on the outskirts of Al-Kawakh injured four civilians, including three children, according to Lebanon’s health ministry. Another strike hit empty shops in the town of Sareen, causing property damage but no casualties.
The border skirmishes between Israel and Hezbollah have escalated in recent weeks, with almost daily exchanges of fire since the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza on October 7.
