The Russia Freedom Legion, known as the Liberty of Russia Legion, has recently claimed control over parts of the Kursk region, asserting their presence in Tetkino. This claim was accompanied by footage purportedly showing their capture of the town. However, subsequent geolocation analysis revealed that the footage actually originated from the village of Ryzhivka in Ukraine’s Sumy region, not Tetkino as initially claimed.

In a series of announcements, the Legion detailed their ongoing efforts against the Kremlin regime, with Denis Kapustin, leader of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) and known as White Rex, making a direct appeal to Russian citizens. Kapustin emphasized the RDK’s commitment to dismantling the current Russian government structure, particularly highlighting the importance of their actions in the lead-up to what they refer to as the “farce called ‘elections.'”
Furthermore, a coalition including the Freedom of Russia Legion, the RDK, and the Siberian Battalion issued a stark warning to civilians in the cities of Kursk and Belgorod. They claim that the Russian military’s operations in Ukraine are being launched from within these residential areas, putting civilians at risk. The coalition has called for the immediate evacuation of these cities to prevent civilian casualties in their planned operations against military positions located within.
The Legion also shared insights into their recent military engagements, claiming successes against Russian forces. These include the destruction of two BMD-2 armored vehicles and the repulsion of an enemy attack, with further details on enemy losses to be shared later. They portrayed these actions as part of a continued effort to challenge Russian military presence in the region, underscoring the ongoing conflict and the measures taken by opposition groups to assert their stance against the Russian government’s policies and military actions in Ukraine.
