The Kalashnikov Concern recently presented the modified AK-12 assault rifle, which was developed based on feedback from its use during a special military operation in Ukraine. The presentation took place at Patriot Park, and the chief designer of the concern, Sergey Urzhumtsev, mentioned that the first AK-12 rifles were supplied to troops in 2019. The modifications made to the 5.45-mm AK-12 include improved accuracy of fire and enhanced ergonomics, distinguishing it from previous models. The rifle now incorporates several Picatinny rails for attaching additional equipment. It was announced by the president of the Kalashnikov Concern, Alan Lushnikov, that the modified AK-12 assault rifle will enter production in 2023.Â
