MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, in partnership with the St. Mary’s County Health Department, will provide information on stroke signs, prevention tips, and offer free blood pressure screenings. The event also addresses potential barriers to care, such as lack of transportation. Stroke coordinator Jennifer Sams emphasized the importance of seeking emergency treatment promptly to minimize lasting impairments, and healthcare providers stress the criticality of recognizing stroke signs for a better chance of a positive outcome.
